On 9 August 2025, CRJJC again hosted its Know Your Rights Initiative in a joint session for both the Special Correctional Centre for Girls, Idi Araba (“SCCG”) and Children’s Correctional Centre for Girls, Idi Araba (“CCCG”). This is part of the Know Your Rights Initiative conducted across the children’s correctional centres in Lagos in the 2024/2025 Academic Year.
The event, coordinated by experienced lawyers, law students, and volunteers, featured insightful discussions on Child Rights and Child Justice Administration. It also included engaging activities like: “Picasso Me” – a fun drawing session with prizes for the 3 best drawings 🎨, and “Be My Lawyer” – an interactive game where the girls applied their newfound knowledge to legally represent a peer🤝.
Individualised sessions were held at the close of the event to mentor and engage with each girl 💖.

In addition to advocating for children in and out of the courtroom, CRJJC is committed to educating children about their rights and engaging in activities that promote child rights, advocacy, and protection. Since June 2024, we have educated hundreds of children across Lagos in children’s centres, schools, and communities.
These achievements have been made possible through the dedication of our volunteers, the support of our partners, and the generosity of our sponsors. We invite you to join us in advancing our mission—whether by volunteering, partnering, or contributing—so that together, we can build a safer, fairer future for every child.
